The SCIAA is excited to present you with the opportunity for your high school football student-athletes to participate in the NFL HSPD Leadership Program presented by the National Guard. The NFL HSPD Leadership Program will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 9am to 5pm at Whitehaven High School. The one-day event is comprised of activities in three different areas – the classroom, the community, and leadership competitions. The classroom portion will be led by the NFL’s Player Engagement Department and will consist of intensive character development and life skills training. Participants will have the opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering in a meaningful service project. The leadership competitions will consist of a series of team-building and leadership activities led by the Tennessee Army National Guard.
Criteria
1) Participant must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA
2) Participant must have completed their sophomore year of high school.
3) Participant must have at least 80% attendance at school.
4) Participant must be a member of the school’s football team.
5) Participant must demonstrate leadership qualities such as teamwork, integrity, dedication, and commitment.
6) Participant must be available to attend the full day program on Thursday, August 7 at Whitehaven High School.
7) Participant is responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the event.
